Reflection #50

 Summary: I was wrong. Gabriel, in the next paragraph, is described as both "furious" and "malevolent". Great start for today. At the end, John is picking up Gabriel’s bag, and he comes face to face with Gabriel’s shoe. I took this as an implication of John getting beaten or something, despite Elizabeth’s pleas.

Reflection: I noticed the activity on the board in the beginning of class, about the tv character. I was so ready to write about how Walter White and I are different, but I guess we didn’t have time for it.

Evaluation: It’s a good story. Although, I don’t care for the open-ended approach he took to the ending. Either way, I was able to follow it fairly well, which is usually my issue with reading.

Reflection #61

 Summary: Today I finally finished the test I started last Monday. All I had left were some questions about the Bill of Rights and finishing a story I was reading. For the story, I wrote a wonderful little tale about Goodman Brown sacrificing a goat to protect his family, and wrote a really cool hidden subtext at the end about his faith sowing doubt within him. Reflection: I guess I find creative writing fun. It took me until now to realize this because the first part of the process is definitely my least favorite. I much prefer the "writing as I think of things" phase to the "thinking of things to write about" phase.  Evaluation: This final is gonna be fine. But, are we ever going to finish "Fences"? Or are we just gonna do a test on the first act? If you read this today, try to remember to tell me tomorrow morning, please.

Reflection #29

 Summary: Today what I was supposed to do was finish the Benchmark test from Monday. What actually happened was, I finished the test on Tuesday, and I didn't have anything to do for the whole class. It might have benefited me to know this information on Tuesday, however "it is what it is". Reflection: I wish I had known or been told that we would've spent today finishing the test. In that case, I would've taken more time on the MCQ section, and probably gotten a better score than... what I got.  Evaluation: I am glad the test is over. Ever since 6th grade, when they started making me do the benchmark tests, they've always felt like a chore. I did learn from this one, however, that I can write a full essay in 30 minutes. Weirdly enough, I actually did that again today in AP US History. We had to write an LEQ on the American Revolution in ~35 minutes, and I literally put my pen down as the bell rang, having written 2 and a half pages by hand (If I am forced to d...

 Summary: Today the teacher was gone. We were told he was on a pilgrimage to Belize. Reflection: The sub mentioned an assignment for today but I didn’t see anything in Canvas, so I’ll ask about it tomorrow.  Evaluation: :3:3:3 There’s nothing to evaluate Revela: R:)! j$$2!2!
