Reflection #13

Today was actually pretty fun, yet productive. 2nd period was… eventful (not in a bad way of course), homeroom saw me complete half of an entire project for APUSH, and my 4th period is actually a sophomore math class (I have no idea why I’m not in pre-calculus- ask Mr. Lloyd), so they all did a MAP test today while I finished up the second part of the project from earlier. And in 6th period, we started learning how to compare Supreme Court cases, which was actually super interesting until I realized that it’s CollegeBoard we’re dealing with, and they actually have my *worst* interest in mind when writing questions.

Reflection #12

Yesterday (Apology for late submission, last night was very busy) we took care of a lot of work. Through the whole day, my friend and I tried to get people to join our club we wanna make, but it’s actually a lot harder than we thought, with all the stuff the teacher has to do, and all the marketing, etc. Academically, we learned about different forms of psychological observation, 8 of the first American colonies, kinematic equations and when/how to use them, and we ended the day off by practicing pieces for our orchestra concert next Thursday. (At Stone Mountain- I’ll get you to sign the admission slip tomorrow)

Reflection #11

Today, we went over confounding variables in AP Psychology, presented our origin myth stories (which I did, very, very awkwardly) in American Lit., mean absolute deviation and variance in algebra, and the three main equations of kinematics in physics. So far, today has been a pretty good day (knock on wood), all things considered. I feel much better than I did yesterday, and I was able to make up the JamBoard assignment for this class in about 20 minutes, which was a nice surprise. As for my grade on the origin myth in total, I tried as hard as I could to stick to every single point on the rubric, and I really hope I accomplished that, so as to make up for the 75 I got last Friday.

Reflection #10

I was sick on Monday the 28th, so I was absent.

Reflection #9

I can’t really tell if today was good or bad. It started off really tiring, but after I got home I did a big workout and found out I’ve lost 6 pounds since I started going to the gym about a month ago. As for what I learned, I taught myself how to extrapolate points on a graph, learned what studying correlation in psychology consists of, and writing about the slave trade. Also at the gym today, I only went 15 minutes on the stair machine before feeling like I was about to die. 😀

Reflection #8

Today marked the first meeting of the beta club, which happens about once a month, and last about 5 minutes each. At the meeting, I was actually so tired by the end of the day that Mr. Cass had to ask if I was ok. Anyway, I finished the origin story today (like I said I would), probably aced a math quiz, and read the Constitution for the 5th time. The reason I got so tired was because nothing really happened today, between finishing early in 2nd period and 4th period, and all of homeroom, we didn’t do much all day.

Reflection #7

Yesterday started off pretty badly, but quickly into the day things got better, as I started brainstorming ideas for the Native American origin myth assignment (Which I will try to get done today), along the lines of a mythical painter who puts images on a canvas and gives way to the creation of the world- I'll elaborate in the story. Later in the day, we discussed a simulated experiment in algebra about the statistics in a 20th century development of a polio vaccine. We ended AP Gov with a vocabulary test- the first one of the year- which I got a 90 on!

Reflection #6

Yesterday, I was in an unusually good mood all day. I started the day by working ahead in Psychology, on my notes regarding the different approaches to psychology used by researchers. Come 5th period, I went for the first time to my new lunch period after we stopped going to homeroom every day, and I found out I have quite a few friends in my lunch, all of whom I was hoping to be able to spend more time with. After I got home from school, I worked on a study guide for AP Gov, going over more than 40 vocabulary words. The main reason I was so motivated to do it was because I had promised my friend I would send it to her (this usually motivates me, because I hate disappointing people). Then, to end off the day, I went to the gym, and beat the final boss of Dark Souls 3 first try.

Reflection #5

Fridays are a necessary breath of fresh air in this schedule. Everyone is in a good mood, you can sleep in the next day, and the likelihood of getting homework that day is down considerably. Today, I finished all of my leftover work, like the chart we’ve been doing in ap psychology, the Native American brochure in APUSH, and the first physics test of the year. This was a pretty busy week, so I’m ready to take it easy for the weekend.

Reflection #4

August 17 was actually a really good day. I started by listening to RENAISSANCE by Beyoncé, which put me in a really good mood to start the day. Then, in pretty much every class for the rest of the day, nothing happened that would ruin my mood, which is uncommon for me. We learned about different approaches to psychology, summarizing short films, statistics, and federalism throughout the whole day.

Reflection #3

Today was a good day. Not just because I was in a good mood for most of it, but because I was actually in the mindset to get work done, which doesn't happen as much as it maybe should this year. Work-wise, we talked about Ivan Pavlov and his dogs in 1st period, illustrating our thoughts in 2nd, Native Americans in 3rd, statistics in 4th, metric conversions in 5th, and the constitutional convention in 6th. A nice thing about the conversions, I was technically taught how to do them 2 years ago, but I never actually understood how to do them for all of high school until today. And if you're wondering why I haven't been mentioning the 7th period in these blogs, that is because my 7th period is orchestra. I might've mentioned it on the first day, but I've played cello since 4th grade, and today we were practicing an Irish folk tune, along with one of Mozart's pieces.  As of writing this, I still have Psychology, US Gov., and APUSH work to do, not including submittin...

Reflection #2

Day 2 was a bit better. We started with a more free-form day in AP Psychology, going over how to get into AP Classroom. Then, in American Lit., we further covered reading and annotation, examining an article about a rather questionable school punishment for dress code violation. Other than that, we didn’t do much outside of what we’ve been doing since last week. I still have some work to do, but it’s 11:21pm, and I am *cripplingly* tired. Such is the dilemma of man.

Reflection #1

Today was a remarkably slow day. Especially after last year, when you could blink in 2nd period and you’d already be in 5th. As for what we learned, I went over big debates in psychology, reading with a purpose in Literature, Aztec and Maya society in APUSH, statistics in algebra, and the articles of confederation in AP Gov. This is my first blog on here, and I’m not even sure if my teacher can see these (I hope for our sake he can), but I’ll ask tomorrow.
