Reflection #67

Image
Today we presented our Great Gatsby posters (above). We had to give 5 traits that describe Gatsby, being Troubled, Reserved, Introverted, Shy, and Unsuspecting. I was told all I had to do for the blog today was describe what we did, but I don’t trust anyone anymore after one of my teachers put the ONE TIME I write honest criticism on the board for everyone๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… So, I will be writing the next one in such a way that NOBODY can read it‼️๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Reflection #66

Summary: Today we finished the poster from Friday. All we had left to do was find two more words and actually make the big poster from the draft. Reflection: We didn’t actually color the whole thing, because we didn’t have time. BUT, when comparing it to the ones on the wall, I think we’ll be fine. Evaluation: I’m getting tired of the group thing, I’m not gonna lie. We work fine together, I just work and think better on my own.

Reflection #65

Summary: Today we started some kind of project-assignment thing. I don’t know how else to put it- but, we have to make a poster with character traits that apply to Jay Gatsby and evidence that supports the traits. Reflection: I also thought we had presentations today! But this time it was for the literature circle thing. For the project, we got 3/5 of the words done, which is pretty good pace, considering we have all Monday to finish. Evaluation: I don’t know if it was me or my group, but half the time someone said something I or my group had no idea what the other person was talking about.

Reflection #64

Summary: Today we finished our group assignments, as well as a notes sheet for chapter 4. Speaking of which, we finished *reading* chapter 3, as well as chapter 4. Reflection: For the first hour of the class, I didn’t know I was supposed to be working yet, so I just did the math work I procrastinated all week, but I locked in for the last 40 minutes and did the notes too. Evaluation: I thought you said you’d give us new guidelines for these blogs? I have a system, but I’m just wondering what you meant by that.

Reflection #63

Summary: Today we caught up on an assignment that apparently nobody knew about. It was just answering a bunch of questions about a few pages of The Great Gatsby, and I had it finished within 10 minutes. Reflection: It wasn’t that bad, I- we- just don’t like thinking about school over the weekend, so we have a higher probability of forgetting any work we might have. I don’t care that much, since I made up the missing grade within an hour.  Evaluation: I get wanting us to know what we read, but I don’t like having to worry about anything over the weekend. It’s both your and my only time off out of the whole week. Granted, it isn’t *that* much work. But still. ALSO I tried to open this website on my Chromebook, and it’s been blocked or something. I’m writing this on my phone, but I would really like it if you could figure out why I can’t do this the way I’ve been doing it all year.

Reflection #62

Summary: Today we looked at an interview with the illustrious MLK Jr. in light of MLK day this Monday. We took notes on various topics he discussed, and answered personal questions about them as well. Reflection: It’s been like 39 days since I wrote here. I would have done it sooner, should we not have been postponing this for the last 2 weeks. I don’t even know if I need to be doing this one, but I never asked, and felt like doing it anyway. Evaluation: AP Gov has me up to my neck in MLK discussion. Mr. Shiloh hasn’t taught it before, and so all of the last 2 weeks have been solely about MLK. It helps though; I was very knowledgeable about today’s topic.
